Reactionaries are lost when the unexpected happens

 Reactionaries are always lost when the unexpected happens. That's because they anticipate nothing. Evelyn Waugh ( SCOOP) tried to remind the West that our often blind and reactionary leaders only think they are addressing the pressures in the ecosystem. Full on, head steam and off target.  
They turn up at Bondi and wonder why bad things happen. Jacinta Allan's police minister , Mr Carbine is predictably without a weapon ready. ( the very word weapon frightens them )

Then when a bigger disaster happens up north in Sydney  he  quickly throws heaps of money at Sunday police surveillance at....... you got it , the football .   Mistargeting in a huge way. Mr Carbines doesn't offer to turn up at prominent risk sites or arrest anyone who disturbs the fragile gift of protest with ANY provocative words and symbols.  His own department know he is not facing up to provocateurs and disruptors --- but does he ? No not until he and Jacina are pushed !  Proactive policing would run too deep for them and even the polys up north .  

 Let the peace  of protest not be broken. If the courts are full as a result of stirrers, so be it . At least that way we might know " who started it ". Our reactionary leaders are blind as bats to evil.
Having not identified where it comes from , they will have no hope of addressing it

Suicidal Empathy

There is no getting away from it.
Science has finally caught up with describing a phenomenon that point 's directly at the reason for the panic on the left that now surrounds them and now in our Western post Christian and post backbone societies generally: Incompetence and maladaptive empathy for starters

The lesson for us all , is not to be crushed by another persons  deeply challenging experience, but to observe the rocks before they fall again on us, and our children. Tidy our own house first. 
Just because you see disaster on your screen, or hear it proclaimed by the dying prophets of doom who  are desperately trying to keep your attention, doesn't mean it's serious or serious enough for your adrenalin rushes to be fully satisfied each day ( Telecom 2000 report  on Futures ) 

We are all better off once people compete to close the gaps in our understanding - and address our fears. That investigation detailed, we must understand and deal with our information overload and learn how to switch the ABC and others OFF. The legacy media are in a fanatical mood,  trying to keep our attention by filling us with a technocolor yawn mix of sweet and nice talking lollies, mere facts and their chosen drips under pressure; all with a white cloak of competence they wouldn't even know to wear it.
